I have just finished reading Rebecca, by Daphe Du Maurier.

The rhythm of the book reflected well the events. It did annoy me at times - I got so angry with the heroine! - when she gave in to Mrs Danvers' goading of her and made her own assumptions about Rebecca.

OK, now I have have my own take on it, but why do YOU think Du Maurier never revealed the name of her heroine???!
